Gary Lloyd

Gary Lloyd is a composer of music for theatre, contemporary dance, television drama and documentary, art installation, son et lumiere, and orchestral concert performance, often working with distinguished creators such as choreographers Bettina Carpi, Claire Henderson Davis, Paula Hampson and Marc Brew; authors Iain Banks, Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman; conductors Adam Robinson and Keith Slade, and musicians from many great orchestras such as LSO, RLPO and RSNO; theatrical director Colin McFarlane; and wildlife film-maker Marianne Wilding.  His work has been heard in productions in places as diverse as Sadler’s Wells, The Lowry, Royal Opera House, Whitworth Art Gallery and Cholmondeley Castle.
In 2014 Lloyd founded Company Carpi with his partner the dancer and choreographer Bettina Carpi.  They successfully launched their first Arts Council England funded production in 2017 with a hybrid dance theatre work based on Alan Moore’s ‘The Mirror Of Love’, which featured Lauren Tucker in the cast.
Lloyd is currently composing his first symphony, developing a new work with Claire Henderson Davis, and developing a new Company Carpi project based on ‘Knots’ by revolutionary psychiatrist R.D. Laing.
