Having started dance lessons at the age of 3 in ballet, tap, modern and jazz under the ISTD syllabus, my passion and love for dance and the arts only grew as I grew. I then took my dance and performance study further gaining my GCSEs and A-Levels in dance and drama, before gaining a First Class BaHons Degree from Edge Hill University in Dance, Drama and Aerial Performance, which opened me up to more contemporary and more abstract styles of dance and performance. I am now working toward completing my DDE under the ISTD framework, to further my knowledge and qualifications, and was also recently qualified in a ‘Dancing Memories’ chair-based dance course, providing movement and dance for those in care homes. I have worked extensively in Primary Schools, Dance Schools and Performing Arts groups, providing both structured and more free sessions, as well as choreographing for their annual performances, one brief even being to create a Bollywood dance for a Primary school’s multi-cultural Food Festival! I also work with an adult group with disabilities or learning difficulties regularly, this being another of my big passions – as dance, movement, drama and the arts in general bring so much to everybody, but in particular are a fantastic outlet for people with additional needs, so helping them along the way and creating accessible art is something I am incredibly passionate about.
I also have a huge love for performing myself, over the years being lucky enough to perform in amazing spaces including The Lowry, the Manchester Palace Theatre, Everyman Theatre in Liverpool and even on a tank as part of a site-specific WWII project! I have been lucky enough to perform for the Queen herself on a visit to Warrington whilst at College, as part of SMG Dance for Light Night Liverpool Festival, as a dancer for a Kylie Tribute Act, and most recently was offered a contract to dance in Greece, which sadly got put on hold and then cancelled when Covid reared its ugly head.
As a dancer/dance artist/dance teacher/general dance fanatic I am always working to improve myself and my skills and always keen to take on new projects and challenges. Dance is multi-faceted, so I believe that gaining as much knowledge and experience both behind the scenes and on the stage is something incredibly important to me, as how can you inspire and encourage passion in others if you don’t feel inspired and passionate yourself?
"I am passionate about bringing dance to all and strive to light the fire of passion in everyone for dance. Dance can provide so much for anyone of any age, so to provide that link to people is something I love doing!"
