Cheshire Dance and Company Carpi are looking for dancers of all ages, backgrounds and levels of dance experience to participate in a brand new and exciting performance piece for the Now Northwich Festival, due to take place on Saturday 27th April 2024.
We are looking for community dancers to become part of a company that will perform ‘In This Place, Upon This Earth’, a live dance opera based on stories about Northwich that are being collected from the people of Northwich, which will be performed at Northwich Plaza as part of Now Northwich Festival celebrating the creative communities in Cheshire and the rich history of the region.
Together, we will create, rehearse and perform a work 20 – 30 minutes long, featuring live orchestral musicians, professional opera singers and dancers – and, community dancers. The piece will be developed with choreographer Bettina Carpi, with music specially created for this occasion by composer Gary Lloyd, and brought to vivid life by local musicians and professional singers.
No previous performance experience is necessary, all are welcome to participate alongside our professional dancers.
