‘Moving Moments’ is an initiative that was first launched during lockdown to ensure that older people would keep active, healthy and of course, dancing.
Moving Moments saw Cheshire Dance come together with local artist Rachel Almond to create beautifully designed pieces of art to inspire and encourage older adults in Cheshire West to stay active. These a5 specially commissioned watercolours featured tasks and activities on the reverse to remind older adults to integrate movement and dance into their daily lives.
During the pandemic, Cheshire Dance reminded the community that there was no need to stop dancing. In fact, at this time more than ever, we needed to remember to keep moving, keep active and keep healthy.
This project was possible thanks to funding from Sport England and support from Cheshire West and Chester Council, Age Friendly Lache and Sanctuary Housing.

"Moving Movements not only encourages older adults to keep moving at home, but brings dance, art and social interaction into lives for enhanced physical and mental wellbeing. Moving Moments takes dance into older rural communities across Cheshire."
