Safeguarding – especially where ‘at risk’ young people or adults are concerned – is your responsibility, and understanding how to recognise, respond to, record and report safeguarding is paramount for keeping both you and your participants safe.
Cheshire Dance delivers an annual CPD workshop in safeguarding specifically for dance artists, teachers and facilitators who work with children under the age of 18 and adults at risk.
Safeguarding looks at what needs to happen to keep children, young people and adults at risk safe. As dance providers we have a ‘duty of care’ to provide a safe environment that is conducive to promoting the health and well-being of these groups ensuring that they have a safe and enjoyable experience every time.
Our day workshop covers a wide range of subjects within safeguarding. Elements of the training can be tailored to the particular needs or priorities of your group and may include the following:-
– Recent changes to safeguarding policies
– Updates on the new child licensing regulations
– Good practice guidelines for practitioners/organisations
– Internet and Social Media safety
– Facilitation of Touch/Non-verbal negotiation of touch
– What to include in your organisations safeguarding policy
– Individual responsibility
– DBS/Chaperoning
– Recognising, Responding, Recording, Reporting
