Cheshire Dance united with Cheshire Wildlife Trust for Wilder Weekend 2022 – a whole weekend dedicated to taking action for nature in our community.
With nature in crisis, we find ourselves in an ecological emergency with 1 in 7 species set for extinction. Change is needed and Wilder Weekend asked the community to join them for a series of activities that would help nature throughout the towns of Crewe and Stockport. Families were encouraged to explore new ways to enjoy the community’s greenspaces and to find out how action could be taken to fight for natures recovery and create a revolution to save wildlife in the local area.
Cheshire Dance contributed to the initiative by facilitating Woodland Wrigglers. These sessions brought together families to move, dance and play around the woods, exploring and bumbling along the wellbeing trail to discover exciting new things in nature.
These sessions were of no cost to the participating families. They took place on Sunday 25th September 2022 at Joey the Swan (Wistaston Park) in Crewe.
Cheshire Wildlife Trust is a grassroots movement of people from a wide range of backgrounds and all walks of life, who believe that we need nature and nature needs us. Together with our members and volunteers, we fight for nature’s recovery across the region.
