Cheshire Dance is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Evaluator for a fixed-term freelance contract to work with us on the evaluation of our exciting new Nexus Programme, a 5 year initiative funded by the Westminster Foundation.

The Nexus Programme will focus on developing Cheshire Dance’s work with young people in and around Chester, Ellesmere Port and surrounding villages, developing dance opportunities with and for children and young people who face barriers to accessing mainstream arts and cultural activities due to experiences relating to poor mental health, neurodiversity, learning disability, social circumstances and financial circumstances.

For the programme we intend to take a continuous, embedded approach to evaluation, which will support reflexive practice and ensure that ongoing learning from the programme is actioned and embedded throughout.  This approach will also support the Nexus Programme delivery team in continuous professional development.

Our ideal evaluator will have extensive professional expertise in evaluating creative/arts and/or youth programmes, and experience of collaborating with cultural organisations on the development and delivery of evaluation.

The evaluator should have excellent communication skills, demonstrable report writing and presentation skills and experience of facilitating evaluation and learning focused sessions with project teams. An understanding of Trauma Aware Practice and how it can inform/frame evaluation approach and programme learning would also be beneficial.
